Music Philosophy
Every child has the ability to learn music! One of my goals is to help students become proficient at playing the piano, and learn the theory that goes along with it. This knowledge and ability can be used for a lifetime. Basic piano knowledge carries over to other musical endeavors: choir, band, orchestra, pop groups, etc. The playing of music uses one’s mind, hands, coordination, and heart.
I began taking piano lessons at age 12. But before that, I was influenced by good musical recordings on LP’s, radio, and TV at home. Also, my siblings and I sang in children’s choirs at church and attended community musical events: choirs, movie and stage musicals, and ballets. A good musical background is very helpful before beginning formal lessons!
